Hands-on useful skills that promote logical thinking. Our IBA Robotics Teams are S.T.E.M. based programs that will have your child smiling with amazement at their own inventiveness!

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE ROBOTIC TEAM & VEX IQ ROBOTIC TEAM FOR 4TH TO 8TH GRADE STUDENTS IN METRO ATLANTA

Ivy Bridge is offering IBA FIRST LEGO League Robotics Team, and IBA Vex IQ Robotic Team competition programs for metro Atlanta students between 4th to 8th grades. Help your children build a solid foundation of STEM related skills and knowledge through hands on team focused competitive robotic programs.

IBA Robotics Programs are offered at our Johns Creek Campus, convenient to Alpharetta, Cumming, Duluth, Johns Creek, Norcross, Roswell, Suwanee, and Greater Metro Atlanta.

IBA ROBOTICS TEAM 1: FIRST LEGO League Robotics Team
IBA ROBOTICS TEAM 2: Vex IQ Robotic Team.

The two IBA Robotics team classes do not overlap so you can join both teams if you wish! During the competitive season lasting 8 months, team classes are held once a week on weekends; Saturdays for FIRST LEGO League and Sundays for Vex IQ.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge: Overview & History:

In early fall, FLL releases a Challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each Challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the FLL Core Values. Teams of up to ten children, with at least one adult coach (two coaches required in U.S./Canada), participate in the Challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game), developing a solution to a problem they have identified (Project), all guided by the FLL Core Values. Teams may then attend an official tournament, hosted by one of our FIRST LEGO League Partners. Past Challenges have been based on topics such as nanotechnology, climate, quality of life for the handicapped population, and transportation. By designing our Challenges around such topics, participants are exposed to potential career paths within a chosen Challenge topic, in addition to solidifying the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles that naturally come from participating in the program. Team members also learn valuable life and employment skills which will benefit them no matter which career path they choose.

VEX IQ Challenge: Ivy Bridge is offering Vex IQ Robotic team competition program.

A STEM Education Revolution for Elementary and Middle School students in Alpharetta, Cumming, Duluth, Johns Creek, Roswell, Suwanee, Ga. Some of the skills learned and challenges to be conquered include:

  • Teamwork Challenge: Two teams working together to maximize their score
  • Robot Skills Challenge: One robot & driver playing alone against the clock
  • Programming Skills Challenge: One robot using sensors to run autonomously
  • Vex robotic design workshops
  • STEM Research Project: Research and present on a STEM theme
  • Vex competition prep.
  • Local, regional, national, and world competitions

VEX IQ is a robotics platform designed to transform STEM learning for young students and their teachers. Students can jump right in and snap robots together using this intuitive, toolless system.
