AFTER-SCHOOL & WEEKEND ENGLISH WRITING WORKSHOP CAMP AT IVY BRIDGE ACADEMY

IBA English Writing Workshop

Children often do not enjoy writing. In many instances this is due to their lack of knowledge as to how to write properly. Lack of individual feedback keeps them making the same errors repeatedly, and lack of time keeps them from rewriting and thus improving. Yet, especially on standardized tests, students must show what they have learned through writing. The IBA English Writing Workshop at Johns Creek Campus is designed to teach each student at his or her own level by providing models, individual feedback, and time and teacher assistance to rewrite and thereby learn from their mistakes.

AFTER-SCHOOL & WEEKEND MAGIC PEN BOOK CLUB CAMP AT IVY BRIDGE ACADEMY

IBA Magic Pen Book Club Writing Workshop

The IBA Magic Pen Book Club: Children will be required to read grade-level books, analyze literary styles, write summaries, discuss format, grammar and research topics of interest. By listening to stories read with expression and style, they will learn how to speak and express themselves creatively and forcefully. They will also be given the opportunity to discuss the elements of a good story, the descriptive words and the lessons to be learned. The Core Curriculum Standards will be used as a guide for instruction. Our goal is to instill a passion for reading good literature, learn the basics of creative writing and to express themselves properly before the group.

IBA CODING & COMPUTER PROGRAMMING WORKSHOP FOR 4TH TO 12TH GRADE STUDENTS – ALPHARETTA / JOHNS CREEK CAMPUS

IBA Coding & Computer Programming Kids Alpharetta

Introducing computer programming to your kids can be a challenge, especially for those who aren’t familiar with coding or computers in general. Ivy Bridge Academy Coding & Computer Programming Camp for Kids is designed to make the often-complex subject of computer coding easy to grasp for young learners. This will be hands on programming with instructor lead sessions and individual assignments to promote and develop the students’ “computational thinking and programming skills.” This program will improve on the basic computer science principles and then move into more advanced concepts and coding.

This class will also focus on improving programming skills and promoting individual creativity by working on various fun applications and game designs.

Self-Paced Coding & Programming Instructions:

Our small class sizes and individualized instructions allow us to tailor the Coding & Computer Programming Camp to each student’s experience level. If your child is a coding whiz kid, they will be able to progress at their own accelerated pace. Conversely, if a student needs extra time to grasp a coding concept, there is no pressure to move onto the next step just to keep the class “moving”.
